TempleFest, as I have said before, is a busy time for me. I have responsibilities as cofounder and Temple store manager that make it a lot of work. Sellena, the lead of Aquarius ministry that puts on the event, said that maybe I didn’t want to teach so I could have a “light year”. She is wise and I should have listened a bit harder.
Last year I was one of the featured presenters and I offered three classes for that status. I wasn’t a featured presenter this year, so I thought I would just offer to do two classes I had already taught in different places. That would make it lighter and easier on me.
As I do every year to spiritually check-in, I meditated with the spirit of the Virgo ministry and my list got a bit longer. I was told I needed to add a “speed dating” style reading exchange with my friend Matooka through the auspices of the Pisces ministry and a calling the healers ritual for the Virgo ministry. I sent them all in thinking TempleFest would reject some of them. I also set myself up to do intuitive tarot readings for the days I was not working the goblin market or teaching or taking a class.
To my surprise they accepted everything I offered. I had a lovely late night discussion with one of the staff where they told me that I was a founder and if I wanted to do something, I would get a yes. This shocked me because it wasn’t my experience with teams from way back when this festival began. They used to treat me very differently and I had the realization that this belief that some of my things would be rejected landed me with a lot more to do. I definitely learned from this TempleFest that although I can manage being signed-up to do so many things, it leaves very little room for me to embrace some of the things I enjoy from the event. Hopefully, I won’t forget it by the time the next year rolls around.
Since it was such a busy year for me, I only got one day where I could manage to be present for intuitive tarot readings. I did quite a few in the time I had and felt lucky to have the ability to serve in one of my favorite ways. Unfortunately with a lot to do on Sunday I had a few people ask me when I could do a reading for them and I had to say I couldn’t fit it in. I told them they could sign up for a reading through Zoom on my scheduler (as can anyone).
So my intention for next year is to do a more manageable amount and be careful what I sign up for.
